A Pair of Suspects Accused for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
