Agony for Forest's Manager as Swansea Stun Forest with Dramatic Comeback

Ange Postecoglou, hands rooted in pockets, was visibly stunned in disbelief as he walked on to the pitch at the final whistle.

Swansea had just completed an incomprehensible turnaround to progress to the EFL Cup next stage, scoring twice in the final four minutes of added time.

Igor Jesus scored his maiden goals for the team to earn a comfortable half-time lead, but Postecoglou is still waiting for his first victory in charge.

The Australian coach seemed to accept responsibility for the breakdown, gesturing at his own role as he headed to acknowledge the away fans.

“It was a difficult evening for our fans,” he said. “We’ve been eliminated we should have progressed in.”

Until Zan Vipotnik equalised in the 93rd minute, it seemed that Postecoglou would secure his debut victory.

The home side were shocked when Vipotnik levelled, and staggered when Swansea’s skipper, Cameron Burgess, scored his second goal in style.

“It was a moment of pure emotion,” the Swansea head coach said. “I was looking at the clock because Forest that can put the ball in the top corner.”

Things looked ominous for the Championship side when, down by two first-half goals, Postecoglou brought on key substitutes.

But, the defender pulled a goal back eight minutes later, converting a set-piece.

The Swansea goalkeeper made a big save to thwart the winger, but Forest failed to capitalize to wrap up the win.

“We are going to have to earn everything,” the manager stated. “We must fight for every success.”
