Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News
Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The workforce reduction come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are expected, with the company aiming to announce all specifics via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Earlier reports stated that Paramount aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.
As of December 2024, the organization had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
